Day 4 – Topolobampo
Topolobampo was the first port we visited. We docked at something like 5am.

A Map of Topolobampo and Los Mochis
Adrian and I are firm believers that the only reason that this stop exists is for the Copper Canyon Tour. For months before the cruise, we received email after email telling us to book this tour, and on board they made announcements almost daily telling us to book it before it was full. The Copper Canyon Tour is an 18 hour long shore excursion, and sounded great (especially for photo taking), BUT, it came with a price tag of nearly $450 per person!
Adrian and I disembarked around 10am I believe, and bought the $5 roundtrip (per person) shuttle ride into Los Mochis. If you haven’t been here before, there isn’t a whole lot to Topolobampo. Los Mochis is just a little town about a 1/2 hour bus ride away, with a Burger King, KFC, shopping malls, etc. Adrian and I toured the botanical garden, which was planted by the founder of Los Mochis / Topolobampo, and walked around one of the malls.
In the afternoon we headed back to the ship for dinner, and to meet up for our shore excursion, the Romantic Sunset Cruise.
The cruise was fairly long, on a little boat. They provided drinks (soft drinks, water, beer, margaritas, etc.) free, as well as snacks (some locally-made chips), and a ham and cheese sandwich (which was gross). We toured around the bay and saw two schools of dolphins swimming around, a lot of birds, and a few boats. The cruise host explained a lot about the town and how it was founded, about their little bay, and when it got too dark to see, he began singing and playing guitar. Overall it was enjoyable, but I’m not sure it was worth what they charged for it. Pictures you’ll see below are from the entire day, divided between most of the day, and the sunset cruise.
